HEIC to PNG

Files never leave your device

Drop HEIC photos here to get PNGs. PNG stores the decoded pixels without adding new compression, so it suits photos you plan to edit; files are 3–6 times larger than a JPG.

How to use it

Questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. The page loads its code once, then reads and processes your files inside the browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server; you can confirm it in your browser's network panel while a file converts.

Is PNG better quality than JPG?

PNG adds no compression loss of its own, so it is the safer choice before editing. It cannot restore detail the HEIC file did not have, and for sharing a JPG at quality 90+ looks the same at a fraction of the size.

Are 10-bit HDR photos kept as HDR?

No. Browsers draw images at 8 bits per channel, so HDR HEIC photos are converted to standard dynamic range. Highlights may look flatter than in the Photos app.
